Post lunch kicked off with a discussion of deployment metrics of Australian companies, giving an indication of the combined Windows 7 and Windows 8 opportunity, as well as similar opportunities around Office.

If customer hasn’t already started Win7, much of the planning for app testing and remediation is very similar for 7 and 8.

Win 8 messaging – faster boot, battery life, better performance, faster wifi reconnections, multi monitor improvements, more powerful File Explorer, improved task manager – touch isn’t the leading discussion.

Windows To Go was covered extensively, including the steps involved with the creation of a Windows To Go drive. Definitely of high interest to most attendees, should enable some new scenarios.

Security investments was the final area of focus, including built in antivirus, UEFI support, TPM 2.0 support which allows virtualization of smartcard onto TPM amongst others, automatic remediation/self healing if compromised.

Now it’s off to the Microsoft Australia Partner awards, Paradyne are a finalist for Cloud partner, fingers crossed Loryan!
